Equipment Guide

Composites

Composite textiles combine two or more fibres or materials to reach strength, weight and durability that neither reaches alone. This directory lists specialist manufacturers and suppliers of reinforcing textiles, prepregs, fibre-reinforced materials, textile-reinforced plastics and membrane systems for aerospace, automotive, construction and sporting goods.

Each company listed below is profiled with its product range, markets served and contact details.

Mehler Texnologies GmbH (MehlerHeytex) Manufactures coated technical textiles — PVC-coated polyester fabrics, hi-tech meshes and composite membranes under the VALMEX and POLYMAR brands. Since the merger of Mehler Texnologies and Heytex within Freudenberg Performance Materials it trades as MehlerHeytex, supplying truck tarpaulins, textile architecture, solar protection, marine and containment, print media and agricultural fabrics. Original Composites & Fiberglass US building and materials manufacturer headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, with businesses in roofing, insulation and doors. Its composites activity supplies glass fibre reinforcement products for composite applications. Note: after the 2025-2026 reshaping the glass reinforcements business is no longer presented as a core reporting segment. Porcher Industries SA Designs and manufactures technical textiles and composite materials, including glass and carbon yarns, woven and coated fabrics, scrims, thermoplastic prepregs and laminates. Materials serve aerospace and defence, automotive, building, industry, sports and leisure and interior design. Vertically integrated from fibre and yarn through weaving, coating and composite part materials. SAERTEX GmbH & Co. KG Develops and produces textile reinforcement materials for fibre composites, mainly multiaxial and unidirectional non-crimp fabrics from glass, carbon, aramid and natural fibres, plus core materials and cut kits. Materials are used for lightweight components in wind energy, aerospace, automotive, boatbuilding and industry, with production and kit-cutting sites worldwide. SGL Carbon SE German technology group producing carbon-based solutions: specialty and fine-grain graphite, flexible graphite, carbon and silicon-carbide components, plus carbon fibres, textile reinforcements, prepregs and composite parts. Markets include semiconductors, automotive, aerospace, energy storage, wind energy and chemical process industries. Teijin Aramid B.V. Manufactures high-performance para- and meta-aramid fibres under the brands Twaron, Twaron Next, Technora and Teijinconex. Fibres are used in ballistic protection, protective wear, tyres and automotive, aerospace, marine and offshore ropes, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy and telecom cables.
